Speed Skating Performance:  6:00pm – 7:00pm Monday and Thursday evenings

All Club skaters skate in the first session. The second session is a “performance session” for those members seeking an organized performance based training plan. All club skaters may attend any sessions, you only pay for how many days a week you wish to attend. The performance program is recommended for anyone wishing to compete, or get a challenging workout in. The performance season will be progressive based on technical skating as well as energy system training.

Any members wishing to hold an executive position in the club must BCSSA members and complete an associate form. These fees are currently covered by the club.  If you are a parent who helps with matt set up we ask that you also fill out a form. There is no cost to you, and as an associate member we are covered for insurance when you are on the ice helping out.

Please refer to our Calendar page for specific dates.

This year Nelson Speed Skating Club is excited to offer an additional registration option, intro to Speed Skating. This covers any 10 sessions all season.  This option is recommended for someone who wants a flexible schedule and is cross training for another sport, such as hockey.  Skaters can focus on training technique and power, not on racing itself. Hockey skates are fine but speed skates rentals will be included in the cost if available.  Preference for skate rentals will be given to full members.

The cost is Cost $200.00 (includes skate rentals).

To register for the Intro to speed skating program, simply select “intro to speed skating” on this year’s registration form.

All Information is only applicable to the 2014_15 season.
